Routes, Schedules & Maps: Snow RoutesSnow RoutesDuring snow and ice accumulations, several routes are deviated to safer traffic patterns. Snow Routes affect the following routes;
Once Snow Routes have been initiated, notifications are immediately posted on the buss destination sign, the Blacksburg Transit website, and the Blacksburg Alert Service. Snow Routes continue to operate until all routes and major bus stops have been cleared and inspected. Deviations from the normal routes require the closure of several stops along the normal route. Please consult the route maps to find out if these deviations and closures affect your stop. Below is a sample of a route map that reflects a Snow Route deviation. The red line represents the Regular Route while the blue line represents the Snow Route. The bus stops along the route are marked by colored dots. The colors represent the following; Black - Bus stop remains open regardless of weather. Red - Bus stop is closed during Snow Routes. Blue - Temporary bus stop used during Snow Routes. This stop is not used during regular service. Yellow - Bus stop remains open but is served by different route.
Christiansburg Service & Inclement Weather The service in Christansburg may be affected differently than Blacksburg service depending on the weather. It may be possible that Blacksburg service continue un-interrupted, while Christiansburg service may be reduced.
