BT Access

What is BT Access?

Blacksburg Transit's BT Access service provides accessible paratransit service for persons who cannot use the fixed route bus system because of a temporary or permanent disability.  With this service eligible passengers may request trips to any location within the Blacksburg Town Limits.

To schedule a trip with BT Access you will need to call our offices between the hours of 8:00 am and 6:30 pm.  We will try to schedule you the closest time to the one you request, we require a one to fourteen day notice on any trips you schedule.  This service is used by more than 200 passengers, so we group trips whenever possible. Therefore, extra time will be scheduled in your trip in case the van makes additional stops between your pick-up and drop-off.

BT Access operators provide door-thru-door assistance to all passengers who require it.  Door-thru-door service consists of the driver arriving at your origin address and assisting you from the threshold of the front door of that location onto the vehicle.  Once at the destination address the passenger is assisted from the vehicle to the threshold of the first door assisted into.  Passengers using wheelchairs will be assisted up a maximum of one (1) step.  For more information about our service you can acquire our Rider's Guide from the downloads page.
